About this product

Please note: this is a non-returnable item (excluding faulty goods)

Apollo Fire 58000-400MAR is a temperature sensor from the Discovery range.

Brand Information

Discovery Marine analogue addressable fire detectors are suitable for larger vessels. The high specification range has been developed to meet the requirements of sophisticated systems. Discovery gives you total reassurance in installations where it is necessary to adapt detection to different operating environments and where protection against unwanted alarms is paramount.

Brand Features

Approved for use in the marine environment

Five response modes for environmental adaptation

Day/night switching for increased flexibility

Drift compensation for false alarm reduction

User programmability for data

XPERT card addressing for increased securityOperation

The Discovery Marine Heat Detector uses a single thermistor to sense the air temperature at the detector position. The thermistor is connected in a resistor network, which produces a voltage output dependent on temperature. The design of the resistor network, together with the processing algorithm in the microcontroller, gives an approximately linear characteristic from 10°C to 80°C.

This linearised signal is further processed, depending on the response mode selected, and converted to an analogue output. Device Addressing

For the European standard version of the detector, the five modes correspond to five classes" as defined in EN54-5:2001. The classes in this standard correspond with different response behaviour, each of which is designed to be suitable for a range of application temperatures. All modes incorporate "fixed temperature" response, which is defined in the standard by the "static response temperature".

Key features

  • Reliable fire detection in areas with a very wide temperature range from -40°C to +70°C
  • Five operating modes suitable for a range of application temperatures
  • Ideal for environments that are dirty or smoky under normal circumstances

If you are matching this to an existing installation, work from the 58000-400MAR part number rather than the description.

Who this is for

For the installer — this is the temperature sensor supplied under Apollo Fire part number 58000-400MAR. Specify it by that part number.

The entries in the specification table are the ones held against this part number. Anything not listed there is not stated by us, and should be confirmed against the manufacturer's own documentation.

In plain English: this is a temperature sensor made by Apollo Fire. The part number 58000-400MAR is the manufacturer's own code for this exact version of it.

Similar-looking items in the same family often differ only by a suffix on that code. If you are replacing something, match the code rather than the picture.

Buying this in the UK

We are a UK supplier and this temperature sensor is sold and shipped from the UK. Prices are shown in pounds sterling.

This item is non-returnable, excluding faulty goods. That restriction comes from the manufacturer's own terms for this line.

We do not quote a warranty term for this part. Every supplier-stated term we have checked against the manufacturer's own document has turned out to be wrong, so we would rather say nothing than say something we cannot stand behind.

Ask us and we will check it for you. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Stock on this line moves, and lead times move with it. Ask us for the current position before you commit to a date on site.

Questions we get asked

Is this the exact temperature sensor I have been quoted? Check the manufacturer part number 58000-400MAR against your quote. That code is the only reliable identity for this item.

Is there a datasheet? Yes — the documentation attached to this listing was checked and names this exact part number. Documents that named only the family, or a different item, are not attached.

Can you check compatibility for us? Ask before you order and we will check it against the manufacturer's own documentation. We do not state compatibility that the record does not carry.

Why does the listing not answer every question? Because the specification held against 58000-400MAR answers some questions and not others. We would rather leave a gap visible than fill it with something we cannot show you.

What if I order the wrong version? Tell us the installation you are matching and we will work back to the part number with you. That is a faster conversation than a return.

Do you hold this in stock? Availability on this line changes through the week, so the honest answer is to ask us on the day. We will give you the current position rather than a general one.
