What is in the kit

The UDTAKITSS contains one each of the UDTAPCMSS pull cord module, the UDTAPLBMSS power, light and buzzer module and the UDTAREMSS assistance alarm reset module, with a disabled persons sign. It is an alarm to raise alert for assistance, and the system is expandable to include additional indication and pull cord modules if required.

Each module has a single gang plate in stainless steel (Grade 304) and measures 87 x 87 x 41 mm. Each module is rated IP20. Each has an operating temperature of -10 to +40 °C.

How the modules work

The pull cord module is anti-ligature, with a red pull cord 3 m long including 2 triangular bangles; it runs at 12 V DC with a power consumption of 0.3 W.

The power, light and buzzer module's purpose is activation and reset circuits. Its LED illuminates in red when in alarm state and its activated buzzer sound level is >80 dB. It is energised with a normally open clean contact and takes ground and 2 live circuits (X1 and X2). It has 2 outputs (output rating 12V 500mA): 1 switched live sharing common ground, and a separate output for additional sounders. Battery backup is from an A23 battery, and its power consumption is 0.2 A.

The reset module's LED illuminates in red when in alarm state and its buzzer sound level when activated is >80 dB; it runs at 12 V DC with a power consumption of 0.9 W.

Installation notes

The modules mount on the surface or flush; the surface box is not included, and surface mounting needs the UDTASMBSS surface mount back box. Each module takes cable up to 1.5 mm².

Accessories include the UDTALBMSS light and buzzer module, the UDTASPCSS replacement pull cord and the UDTASMBSS surface mount box, all in stainless steel.
