About this product

The CDVI TX26-MC1/SETMC1C9V is a single channel radio transmitter for turning a standard switch into a radio switch. It suits exit buttons and other jobs where cabling is difficult. It runs on a 9V battery, works at 433.92MHz and has a range of up to 1,000m in open field.

Key features

  • Makes an ordinary switch wireless – can turn a contact into an RF signal
  • Saves running a cable – for exit buttons or any device where cabling is difficult
  • Long reach on open ground – up to 1,000m in open field
  • Works with a simple contact – open connections (push-to-make)
  • Coded signal – rolling code Keeloq® on 433.92MHz
  • Small enough to hide – 45 mm x 28 mm x 6 mm module

For installers

  • Power: 9V (Battery 6LR61), consumption 17mA, on a 200mm battery cable.
  • Mounting: a 45 mm x 28 mm x 6 mm module for fitting into exit buttons. Check the space and fixing inside your button.
  • Cabling: open connections (push-to-make).
  • Compatibility: 433.92MHz, AM/ASK, rolling code Keeloq®. Check the receiver against these first.

Frequently asked questions

What does it connect to?

A standard switch with open connections (push-to-make). It turns that contact into an RF signal, so the switch needs no cable back to the door equipment.

Which receiver does it work with?

One that matches 433.92MHz, AM/ASK and rolling code Keeloq®. Check the receiver's own documentation against those before buying.

What battery does it use?

A 9V battery, type 6LR61, on a 200mm battery cable.

How far will the signal travel?

Up to 1,000m in open field. Walls and metal usually shorten a radio signal, so test it in position before fixing anything.

Will it fit inside an exit button?

It is for fitting into exit buttons, and the module measures 45 mm x 28 mm x 6 mm, so check the space behind yours.

CDVI TX26-MC1/SETMC1C9V radio transmitter, module with battery clip

CDVI Single Channel Radio Transmitter, 433.92MHz, 9V Battery TX26-MC1/SETMC1C9V

Overview

This small module from CDVI adds a radio link to a switch that has no cable route. The switch closes a contact, and the module sends that event as a radio signal to a receiver elsewhere.

It suits a door on an access control system where running a cable would spoil the finish or simply is not possible.

How it works

  • Push-to-make: this means the contact is open at rest and closes when pressed. A switch that opens on press is a different type.
  • Rolling code: as a rule, the code changes with each press, which makes a copied signal much harder to reuse.
  • AM/ASK: this is the way the signal is carried. As a rule, the receiver has to use the same method, as well as the same frequency and coding.

Where to use it

The obvious job is a door release button on glass walls or in listed buildings, where chasing a cable is awkward. It also suits any other device with a suitable contact and no cable route.

As a rule, a radio button is a convenience control. On an escape route it does not replace a wired emergency release, so check the design with whoever holds the fire strategy.

What the figures mean in practice

  • Up to 1,000m in open field: this is a figure for clear open space. Expect less through a building, and test the signal in position before fixing the switch.
  • 17mA: this is the current drawn from the battery, so plan to check the battery as routine maintenance.
  • 45 mm x 28 mm x 6 mm: the module is thin, but it also needs room for a 9V battery on its 200mm cable.

Installing it

As a rule, isolate the switch from any other wiring first, because the module needs a clean contact. Keep the battery where it can be changed later, and pair the receiver before closing up the fitting.

Planning your system

  • Receiver: the job also needs a receiver that accepts this signal, so match the frequency and coding against the receiver's own documentation.
  • Switch: it works with a normally open contact, such as one of the exit buttons on a door.
  • Battery: the supply is a 6LR61 type, the familiar rectangular 9V battery.
