What this post is for

Where to use it

It suits car parks, residential complexes and office buildings. It is suitable outdoors, but only away from the coast.

Salt air can mark stainless steel over time, which is the usual reason for a non-coastal limit. A level, solid base also matters, because a post is only as steady as what it is bolted to.

What the figures mean in practice

• 1600 height: the device sits near the top of the post, so allow for its own size when judging where the buttons or reader will land.
• 11.35 kg: plan the lift, because the post must be held upright while you line up the holes.
• 250 base plate: keep a clear, flat area at least this size, and remember the BASE-COVER if you want to hide the fixings.

Installing it

• Fixings: the holes are Ø11.5 in the base plate. Choose anchors to suit the ground and any expected knocks.
• Cables: plan your duct to the post before pouring or bolting down, and check the cable entry on the post itself.

Planning your system

The post is only the mount. The job also needs the device itself, such as a keypad, a proximity reader or a door entry panel, plus the cable back to its controller.
