Comelit Mini Hands-Free Video Door Entry Monitor with Induction Loop, Simplebus2, White 6721W/BM

Overview

The Mini hands-free monitor is the indoor screen of a Comelit Simplebus2 door entry system. This BM version adds a hearing induction loop for residents who use hearing aids.

Its white RAL9003 ABS case stays slim on the wall, and the controls light up so they are easy to find in a dark hallway. Other door entry monitors and door stations cover different systems and screen sizes.

How it works

Simplebus2 Colour is a 2-wire system, and the monitor draws its power from the door entry bus. Two 8-position DIP switches set each monitor's user code and button functions.

An induction loop turns speech into a magnetic field that a hearing aid set to its loop position picks up. The caller's voice reaches the aid directly, with less background noise.

Where to use it

It is an indoor unit rated IP30, for dry rooms between 5 and 40 °C. A hallway or living space on a Simplebus2 system is the usual position.

For larger spaces such as a reception desk, separate hearing loop systems give room-wide cover.

What the figures mean in practice

• 4.3" screen at 480x272: a compact colour picture of who is at the door.
• Low stand-by draw: at 0.05 W each, several monitors on one riser add little to the bus load.
• Intercom and alarm calls: the monitor can make intercom calls and send alarm calls, as well as answer the door.

Installing it

Fix the separate backplate art. 6710 to the wall, then connect the bus to the L L terminals. The terminals are removable, which makes wiring easier.

When replacing a Planux, Smart or Icona monitor, the Comelit 6711WV adapter plate finishes off the old fixing area.

Standards and ratings explained

The monitor is rated IP30 and complies with RoHS II and the EMC directive 2014/30/UE.

IP30 means protection against solid objects of 2.5 mm and larger, with no protection against water. RoHS limits hazardous substances in electrical equipment, and the EMC directive covers electrical interference.
