Comelit PAC 512 DC Two-Door Access Controller, DIN Rail Mount
About this product
The Comelit PAC 512 DC (909030055) is an intelligent two-door access controller supplied on a DIN mount for fitting into PAC 4-way and 6-way DIN enclosures.
It is built to sit inside a wider PAC access control system, where it handles on-site access control, lift control and door functions either on its own or alongside other PAC controllers. The board carries its own database and processing ability, so routine access decisions are executed locally rather than being referred back to a PC for every presentation of a card. Management software still does the heavy lifting for configuration and for the wider feature set: the controller is set up from a PC running PAC Access Central or EasiNet software.
Communication to that software runs over the built-in RS-232 port, while the RS-485 port is used to bring secondary PAC 511 and 512 controllers onto the same chain.
Key features
- Two doors, up to four devices: Supports two doors with up to four access control devices. They can be arranged as one reader per door, a reader plus an exit push button per door, or two readers per door for read-in and read-out.
- 20,000 keyholders: Holds a database of up to 20,000 keyholders, based on one credential record per keyholder, alongside storage for 20,000 events.
- Read in and out: Manages access through both doors with read in/out when PAC and PAC64 output readers are used.
- Serial communications: Built-in RS-232 carries communication to the PAC software, and RS-485 connects secondary PAC 511 and 512 controllers.
- Lock control: Drives the door lock in fail safe or fail secure mode, with 3 Amp thermal fuse protection on the lock relays.
- Relay outputs: Provides two 5 Amp lock relays and two 5 Amp auxiliary relays, each rated at 30 V DC.
- Local anti-passback: Anti-passback runs on the controller itself for accurate tracking of personnel.
- One-Touch test mode: A One-Touch test mode is built in for checking the installation during commissioning.
- Credentials and readers: Accepts PAC, KeyPAC, PAC OPS Lite and PAC OPS cards and tokens. It takes input from PAC LF, HF, MT, Architect and biometric readers, PAC PTE exit devices, door contacts and alarm inputs.
- DIN mount format: Measures 181 mm wide by 65 mm high by 125 mm deep and weighs 0.61 kg, ready for the optional PAC 4-way or 6-way DIN cabinets.
Use cases
This is the version of the 512 DC to specify when the controller is going into a DIN enclosure, rather than being supplied boxed with its own power supply. It suits panel builds and comms cupboards where the access control sits on rail alongside other equipment. Typical work is a pair of doors on a serial PAC system: a main entrance read in and out, plus a secondary door or a lift landing.
The controller talks back to PAC Access Central or EasiNet over RS-232, with further 511 and 512 controllers chained on RS-485. Readers can sit up to 70 m away when powered from the controller, or up to 500 m away when powered locally, which usually decides where the enclosure goes on a multi-door site.
