The Video Handset is designed for everyday ease of use, offering clear full-duplex audio and 720 × 576 colour video to give residents a detailed view of visitors. It integrates seamlessly with the GDX Next system and includes illuminated, tactile controls for essential functions such as door release and privacy mode, along with adjustable screen and volume settings, selectable ringtones and visual call indication. The unit provides two raised-symbol buttons that allow residents to grant access and use a Concierge function reserved for future system enhancements.

Each button features a laser-etched symbol to support residents with partial sight and illuminates to show when a function is active or available. Visual call indication is provided through illuminated icons, ensuring calls are easy to notice even in low-light environments. Residents can tailor their experience by adjusting the ring volume and selecting from five privacy time periods—2, 4, 8 or 12 hours, or constant—during which the handset will remain silent when a call is received.

A visual indicator confirms when privacy mode is active. Even with privacy enabled, the handset will still flash to alert the resident of an incoming call, allowing them to answer if they choose. With accessibility in mind, the handset includes a built-in T-Coil compatible loop and supports both timed and permanent privacy settings, ensuring it meets a wide range of user needs.
