Are PTZ cameras worth it? On a long boundary, usually yes — one PTZ covers ground that would take four or five fixed cameras, and the saving on cabling and licences pays for it. The trade-off is that it only looks one way at a time, so most sites pair a PTZ with a couple of fixed cameras on the entrances.
