Running on its own

No controller, no software and no PC — the whole system is this one unit by the door, programmed at the keypad itself. The EZTAG3 is silver and the EZTAG3B black.

Who gets in

It holds up to 1,010 fobs or PIN codes, in two separate groups, so one set of people can be added or removed without touching the other. A PIN is two to six digits. A fob has to come within 50 mm of the reader, and a red or green LED says whether it worked.

Wiring it in

Two relay outputs mean it can release a lock and switch a second thing as well, such as a gate. Each relay handles up to 4 A at 30 V DC and can be held anywhere from one second to ninety-nine. Power is 12 to 24 volts, AC or DC.

The unit itself

The case is aluminium. There is an anti-tamper option, which matters on a unit fitted where anyone can reach it. No weather rating is quoted on the page, so check the position before fitting it somewhere exposed.
