What it does

The DS-7716NI-M4-04TB-H records up to 16-ch IP camera inputs at up to 32 MP resolution. The NVR supports up to 8-ch 32/24/16 MP IP video inputs, and all channels for less than 16 MP.

It handles H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 with 256 Mbps incoming bandwidth and 256 Mbps outgoing bandwidth. Decoding capability runs from 2-ch@32 MP (30 fps) to 16-ch@5 MP (30 fps), with 16-ch synchronous playback and dual-stream recording.

Installation notes

This version comes with 4TB of storage fitted. The recorder has 4 SATA interfaces with up to 16 TB capacity for each disk, plus 1 eSATA interface.

Networking is through 2 RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps self-adaptive Ethernet interfaces, and cameras connect over ONVIF(Version 2.5) or RTSP. The recorder has no PoE ports.

Power is 100 to 240 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz, with consumption of ≤ 15 W (without HDD). The 19-inch rack-mounted 1.5U chassis measures 445 × 400 × 75 mm (W × D × H), and the working temperature is -10 °C to 55 °C at 10% to 90% working humidity.

Other interfaces include 16/9 alarm in/out, 2 RS-485 (half-duplex), 1 RS-232, and USB with Front panel: 2 × USB 2.0; Rear panel: 1 × USB 3.0. A controllable 12 VDC, 1 A power output for an external alarm device is turned on when the alarm output is triggered, and is controlled by alarm output 9.

Day to day

HDMI 1 outputs up to 8K (7680 × 4320)/30Hz and HDMI 2 up to 4K (3840 × 2160)/60Hz, with HDMI1/VGA simultaneous output and HDMI2/VGA independent output. When HDMI 1 output resolution is 8K, the maximum HDMI 2 output resolution is 1080p.

Up to 8-ch IP speakers can be connected, and two-way audio uses a 1-ch RCA connection. Live view and playback stream encryption is supported with AES128, alongside secure boot and password protection.
