Who this is for

For the installer. 42 W on Hi-PoE, so this is not a PoE+ camera — check the injector or switch port before you quote it. At 5 kg and Ø 220 × 363 mm it is the heaviest of the network domes in this group and wants a substantial bracket and a solid fixing. The speaker and strobe are driven by event linkage in the camera itself, so a deterrent response works with no head-end logic at all — worth configuring even where there is a manned control room, because it fires instantly.

For the end user. Two hundred metres of infrared is the headline: in full darkness this sees roughly twice as far as the 100 m cameras and a third further than the 150 m. The other half of it is that this camera talks back. When it detects someone crossing a line at night it can flash a white strobe and sound a warning on the spot. Most opportunist intruders leave at that point, which is a materially better outcome than good footage of a theft. People counting is included too, which is normally a retail feature rather than a security one.

Buying this in the UK

Two points specific to this model. An audible warning device on a boundary can attract a noise complaint from a local authority if it is triggering repeatedly at night — tune the analytics so it fires on classified targets, not on movement. And under UK GDPR, cameras with microphones are treated more strictly than video alone: this one has two, so recording audio needs a separate justification and is often best disabled. Common questions

Does it need Hi-PoE? Yes — 42 W maximum, above what 802.3at PoE+ delivers. Either Hi-PoE or a 36 VDC supply.

How is this different from the 150 m model? Longer infrared (200 m against 150 m), faster pan and tilt, IK10 vandal rating, and the speaker and strobe deterrent, which the 150 m model does not have.

Can it warn people off by itself? Yes. Event linkage triggers a white flashing light and an audible warning from the built-in speaker, effective to about 30 m, without any operator input.

What is people counting for? It counts people in up to 8 defined regions and can alarm on density, on a number threshold, or on how long someone has been waiting — used for occupancy and queue management as much as for security.

Should I record the audio? Usually not. Two microphones are fitted, but under UK GDPR audio recording is harder to justify than video and the ICO treats it as more intrusive. Most installs leave it off unless there is a specific documented reason.
