The Hikvision DS-2CD2543G2-IS(4MM) is a 4 MP AcuSense fixed mini dome network camera with a 4 mm lens, a built-in microphone and audio and alarm terminals.

This is the audio and alarm version of Hikvision's 4 MP AcuSense mini dome, supplied with the 4 mm fixed focal lens for a tighter, longer view than the 2.8 mm option. The 1/3-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor records at 2688 x 1520, and 120 dB wide dynamic range keeps faces readable when a doorway or window is throwing hard backlight into the frame. AcuSense deep-learning analytics sit on the camera itself, classifying human and vehicle targets so that line crossing and intrusion alarms can be limited to the things that actually matter rather than every moving branch.

The aluminium base and plastic cover carry IP67 and IK08 ratings, the body measures Ø110 mm by 57.4 mm, and it runs on 802.3af PoE or on 12 V DC.

Use cases

At 4 mm this camera suits a corridor, a driveway, a car park bay or an approach path rather than a wide open forecourt. Hikvision quotes DORI figures of 85 m to detect, 34 m to observe, 17 m to recognise and 9 m to identify. A person can still be identified at the far end of a small yard.

The compact mini dome shape and the IK08 rating suit shop floors, receptions, stairwells, school corridors and communal entrances where a full-size dome would be conspicuous or a target. Because it is the -IS variant, a door contact, a break-glass or a sounder can be wired straight to the alarm terminals and tied into the same recording. The line-in and line-out pair supports an external microphone or a talk-back speaker, where audio evidence or a live challenge matters.

IP67 sealing and the -30 °C to 60 °C range mean the same part number covers external walls, soffits and unheated stores as well as the indoor positions it is most often specified for.
