MAGDUO8B 8 Zone 2 Wire Fire Panel Black

What it does

The MAGDUO8B is a 2-wire conventional fire alarm panel with 8 zones. Each zone takes up to 32 devices, depending on device loading units (160 per zone), and sounders and detectors can be mixed on the same zone. It can be expanded to 12 zones with the MAGDUOZC4 or MAGDUOCC4.

The panel provides active end of line monitoring and head removal, can differentiate between smoke detector, heat detector and manual call point alarms, and has an alarm confirmation feature, 3 enhanced test modes and delay programming options. A zone can be configured to day/night detection mode, the event log stores up to 500 events, and an RS485 connection takes up to 8 repeater panels.

Inputs and outputs

It has 2 programmable inputs (3.3 volts @ 10mA, un-monitored) and 1 monitored input (3.3 volts @ 10mA). Outputs are 2 monitored outputs rated at 28V DC @ 200mA each, 2 unmonitored fire & fault outputs at 30V DC @ 1A each, a 24V DC @ 250mA auxiliary output and 2 output zones.

Installation notes

It runs from 230 V AC (nominal 700mA), with an operating voltage of 21 - 31 V DC (nominal 24 V DC) and a PSU output of 2.1 A (4 hour continuous). Standby supply is 2 x 12V 3.2 Ah SLA batteries, sold separately.

Cabling is up to 1.5 mm² (2 core screened fire rated cable), with a maximum cable length of 500 m per zone.

The surface mounted enclosure is V0 rated ABS, measures 331 x 331 x 99 mm and weighs 2.36 kg. It is rated IP30. Its operating temperature is +5 to +40 °C.

It is supplied with 2 battery leads (1 red, 1 black), 1 battery connecting lead, 1 315mA quickblow fuse, 2 panel keys, 2 680 Ohm resistors, 2 10K ohm resistors and 2 3.275K Ohm resistors.

Accessories are the BAT32 12V 3.2Ah SLA battery, the MAGDUOPK (2 MAGDUO panel keys), the MAGDUOPCPS MAGDUO software and the MAGDUOBBB battery expansion box for MAGDUO.
