MAGDUO8 8 Zone Two Wire Fire Panel

What it does

The MAGDUO8 runs 2-wire conventional zones: 8 of them, each taking up to 32 devices depending on device loading units (160 per zone), with sounders and detectors mixed on zones. It can be expanded to 12 zones with MAGDUOZC4 or MAGDUOCC4.

It tells smoke detector, heat detector and manual call point alarms apart and has an alarm confirmation feature. Zones can be configured to day/night detection mode, and there are delay programming options, 3 enhanced test modes and an event log storing up to 500 events.

Installation notes

It takes 230 V AC (nominal 700mA), with a PSU output of 2.1A over 4 hours continuous. Standby is from 2 x 12V 3.2 Ah SLA batteries, sold separately; BAT32 is an accessory for it, as is the MAGDUOBBB battery expansion box.

Zone cable runs are up to 500 m, in cable up to 1.5 mm² (2 core screened fire rated cable). Outputs are a 24V DC @ 250mA auxiliary output, 2 output zones, 2 monitored outputs rated 28V DC @ 200mA each and 2 unmonitored fire and fault outputs at 30V DC @ 1A each; there are 2 programmable inputs and 1 monitored input.

The V0 rated ABS enclosure is surface mounted, measures 331 x 331 x 99 mm and weighs 2.36 kg. It is rated IP30, and its operating temperature is +5 to +40 °C.

Supplied with 2 battery leads (1 red, 1 black), 1 battery connecting lead, 1 x 315mA quickblow fuse, 2 panel keys, 2 x 680 Ohm resistors, 2 x 10K ohm resistors and 2 x 3.275K Ohm resistors. Accessories include MAGDUOPK (2 MAGDUO panel keys) and MAGDUOPCPS MAGDUO software.
