What it does

The Optex SL-350QDM(C) is a Smart Line quad beam photoelectric detector with a 100m/350ft. detection range. By employing quad beam, it reduces false alarm caused by birds and falling leaves, and its high-grade aspherical lens creates more sharply defined and precise active infrared beams.

Double modulation beams that differ in pulse patterns help separate the beams from noise interference such as sunlight, reducing missed or false alarms. A.T.P.C. (automatic transmit power control, SL-QDM only) adjusts the power of the beam and decreases false and missed alarms caused by fog, frost, cross talk, and signal saturation.

Sunshine protection technology (SL-QDM/SL-QDP only) has a triple layer construction against external light such as the sun, mercury-vapour lamps and fluorescent lights.

Where it is used

The detector carries IP65 water protection, with rubber seals at wiring holes, wire ports and the outer openings on the chassis, and an ambient temperature range of -35°C - +60°C (-30°F - 140°F). Hoods on the upper and lower beams prevent frost from attaching to the front cover, and the UV-resistant poly carbonate cover is not clouded by ultraviolet ray over the long term.

Installation notes

Alignment uses a dial that needs no screwdriver, plus 5-LED alignment level indicators on the transmitter and receiver; the alignment level can also be checked by sound. An upper/lower beam selection button turns the upper and lower beams on and off alternately in installation mode, so optical alignment can be done without a beam blocking plate.

The beam power control selector sets beam power to NORMAL, LOW or VERY LOW. The optional BAU-4 beam alignment unit automatically and accurately adjusts the optical axis, and is listed for the SL-200QDM/350QDM/650QDM (applicable to receiver and transmitter).
