Paxton Access 682-528 is a plastic housing from the Plus range.
About – Net2 is a networked access control system. A networked system offers the advantages of central control, event reporting and flexible management of users’ access. Each control unit is part of a network but can operate independently, making its own decisions and recording events.
The Net2 plus control unit connects to the central administration PC using an RJ45 plug into a standard TCP/IP Ethernet network. This significantly increases installation flexibility on sites with LAN/WAN networks. The Net2 plus control unit also features an RS485 connection, allowing it to connect to other Net2 plus or Net2 classic control units via a dedicated CAT5 cable.
One Net2 plus control unit can serve as the network interface to the LAN and also operate a wired RS485 daisy chain of other Net2 plus or Net2 classic units, eliminating the need for a separate TCP/IP to RS485 converter. Net2 plus is also available with a Power over Ethernet (PoE) power supply. PoE technology enables both power and data to be transmitted over Ethernet cabling.
Net2 plus with PoE simply plugs directly into the existing LAN using a standard RJ45 plug (provided it is powered by a compatible PoE switch or PoE injector). Net2 Plus is supplied as a PCB only or housed in a cabinet with or without a power supply. Both metal and plastic cabinets are available, with a 2A or PoE+ power supply.

This product is a suitable alternative to the Net2 Entry – Control Unit when combined with any 802.3af or 802.3at (PoE+) compliant third-party PoE switch. We recommend the TP Link TL-SF1006P switch, which has been thoroughly tested with the Entry system.
Installation – A label on the Net2 plus control unit clearly shows colour-coded connections for reader, power supply, etc. The unit has a volt-free relay and can switch any lock or electrical device. Exit buttons, door contacts, tamper switches and alarm devices may be connected.
Control units communicate with the PC via the standard TCP/IP protocol of a LAN. The Net2 plus control unit should be assigned a fixed/static IP address. All configuration of the unit is done using the Net2 Configuration Utility.
Diagnostic LEDs are mounted close to their relevant terminals to assist with trouble-free installation. End-of-line resistors can be switched into the circuit as required. External terminating resistors are not necessary.
Operation – Any changes made at the PC are immediately communicated to and stored at the control unit. When a user presents their token to the reader, the control unit identifies them and grants or denies access as appropriate.
