STI Call Point Stopper, Surface Mount Call Point Cover with 35mm Spacer, Yellow STI-6931-Y

Overview

A switch or call point that is easy to knock or tamper with can cause trouble out of all proportion to its size. A hinged cover adds one deliberate step before anyone can reach the device.

This yellow STI version reads IN CASE OF EMERGENCY LIFT COVER - OPERATE DEVICE. It is supplied with a 35mm spacer for surface mounted devices.

How it works

• Hinged cover: the clear polycarbonate cover retrofits securely over the existing device, so the device stays in view.
• Spring return: once the cover is released, the spring loaded hinge returns it to its original position.

Where to use it

It suits shopping centres, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, nursing homes and other public buildings where there is a risk of malicious or accidental activation.

Before covering any device on an escape route, speak to whoever holds the building's fire strategy. In most buildings that is the responsible person.

Installing it

• Fixings: the cover uses a simple 4 fixing installation and retrofits over the existing device.
• Spacer: the STI-6903 35mm spacer comes with this model and sits behind the cover, so it clears a surface mounted box.
• Check the fit: the cover fits a wide range of switches and call points. As a rule, measure the device and its back box before ordering.

Pick the colour that matches what the device does. The same cover comes in red as the STI-6931, and in green as the STI-6931-G.
