Overview

The Exit Stopper is a door alarm that alerts to unauthorised exits or entries through emergency exit doors. Its key is what separates an authorised exit from a false alarm.

This pack holds two spare keys for the STI-6400, the model they are supplied with. Keeping spares means the alarm can still be silenced when the usual key holder is away.

How the key is used

• Silencing an alarm: the key operated override silences the alarm once it has sounded.
• Authorised exits: the same override lets a member of staff use the door without setting it off.

Where to use it

These keys belong with an STI-6400 Exit Stopper on an emergency exit door or a rear door that staff need to pass. The alarm itself is not for outdoor use.

Planning your system

• Check the model: keys are model specific, so match the key to the unit before ordering. The always active STI-6405 has its own key pack.
• Always active units: on that model the key holder can reset the alarm but cannot turn it off.
• Colour versions: the green STI-6400-G is the green version of the same Exit Stopper door alarm.

Looking after the keys

As a rule, keep one key with the duty manager and one somewhere secure on site. Record who holds each key, so the alarm can always be silenced quickly.
