The Videx GSM4KCR-1S/4G is a 4G GSM audio intercom kit with one call button and a codelock, for surface mounting at a door or gate. A visitor's call goes to any mobile or landline. It suits sites with no cable run to the house. The kit includes the panel, antenna and power supply.

Frequently asked questions

Does the kit come with a SIM card?

No. A SIM is required but not supplied, and it must be a nano size SIM card with the PIN request disabled.

How many access codes can the keypad hold?

Up to 400 permanent codes and 32 temporary codes. Temporary codes are valid from 1 to 255 hours.

Can it call more than one phone?

Yes. Each call button can call four telephone numbers, diverting if the first is busy or not answered.

Will it work on a 2G or 3G network?

Yes. It is designed for 4G but is also compatible with 2G and 3G networks.

How is it programmed?

By SMS messaging, the GSMSK PC software, including over the air, or the GSM mobile apps.

Can it be used as an emergency call point?

No. It is not designed to be used as an emergency call point.

Overview

A GSM intercom works like a mobile phone at the gate. When a visitor presses the button, the panel rings a chosen mobile or landline, and the person answering can talk and open the door or gate from wherever they are.

This kit pairs a one-button 4G panel with a codelock keypad, so regular users can let themselves in with a code while visitors call. It surface mounts and comes with its antenna and power supply.

How it works

Calls: the panel works through the stored numbers in turn until someone picks up.
Codes: the Art.4903 codelock connects over the RS485 bus, and the GSM module stores the codes entered on it: up to 400 permanent and 32 temporary.
Fobs: a built-in proximity reader behind the button name window opens the door for up to 1000 users.
Dial to open: stored numbers can ring the panel to open the door without the call being answered or charged.

Where to use it

It suits gates, outbuildings and sites where running a cable back to the house is hard, as long as there is good mobile coverage. Check coverage at the panel position before ordering.

It is not designed to be used as an emergency call point, and may not suit hospitals, health care facilities or places with flammable gases or liquids without advice first.

Installing it

Choose the network with the strongest coverage at the antenna position, and register the SIM before fitting it. Mount the antenna vertically, as high as possible, and keep its cable away from the power supply cables and microphone wire.

Always switch the power off before inserting or removing the SIM. Installation by a competent electrician, security or communications engineer is recommended.

Planning your system

The relay switches a door or gate lock, so plan the lock and its supply alongside the kit. A push to exit button connects to its exit input; see exit buttons and door release.

For fob access, the Videx 955/T proximity fob works with this system. Programming from a PC uses the Videx GSMSK PC software. Other parts are in intercom and door entry accessories, and complete systems in door entry kits.
