About this product

Videx 170E/S/SH is a key fireman switch.

These Vandal Resistant Fireman switches are manufactured from 12 gauge stainless steel with drop key and crescent key versions available. The switches have a flush galvanised back box as standard (with the drop key version in a flush bezelled box), however surface back box options are available for both. The drop key provides a higher level of security against misuse than other conventional fireman switches (achieved through the shape of the key used to operate the switch).

The Drop Key Fireman switch is fitted with a heavy-duty DPDT (plunger) double pole micro switch while the Crescent Key Fireman switch is fitted with a heavy-duty SPDT (lever) single pole micro switch. A drop key and crescent key are required to operate their respective Fireman switch and are available separately.

Key features

  • Drop key or Crescent key versions available
  • Manufactured from 12 gauge stainless steel
  • Both versions incorporate either a heavy duty DPDT or SPDT internal micro switch
  • Surface back box also available for the Crescent key switch

Videx 170E/S/SH key fireman switch

Videx 170E/S/SH key fireman switch, Surface Mount

Who this is for

For the installer — this is the key fireman switch supplied under Videx part number 170E/S/SH. Specify it by that part number.

In plain English: this is a key fireman switch made by Videx. The part number 170E/S/SH is the manufacturer's own code for this exact version of it.

Similar-looking items in the same family often differ only by a suffix on that code. If you are replacing something, match the code rather than the picture.

Buying this in the UK

We are a UK supplier and this key fireman switch is sold and shipped from the UK. Prices are shown in pounds sterling.

This item is returnable under our standard returns terms. Faulty goods are handled separately and are never affected by a returns restriction.

We do not quote a warranty term for this part.

Ask us and we will check it for you. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Stock on this line moves, and lead times move with it. Ask us for the current position before you commit to a date on site.

Questions we get asked

Is this the exact key fireman switch I have been quoted? Check the manufacturer part number 170E/S/SH against your quote. That code is the only reliable identity for this item.

Is there a datasheet? Yes — the documentation attached to this listing was checked and names this exact part number. Documents that named only the family, or a different item, are not attached.

What if I order the wrong version? Tell us the installation you are matching and we will work back to the part number with you. That is a faster conversation than a return.
