Videx 8849WS4 is a proximity reader module from the 8000 range.

A selection of modular 8000 series proximity reader modules are available that are able to operate as a standalone proximity access reader or connect to an access control CPU that can also be incorporated as part of an audio or video door entry system. The 8849 proximity reader can be connected to any of the VProx series of proximity access control CPUs ranging from the VP20 (1 door, 20 fob CPU, VP100 (2 door, 100 fob CPU and VP250 (3 door, 250 fob CPU. The reader can also be connected to the VP1000 (1000 fobs and VP4000 (4000 fobs CPUs, both of which can have up to 30 main doors and up to 100 apartment doors when connected directly to a 1000A expansion module.

The 8849PP proximity reader module is a multi-protocol Wiegand 26-40BIT reader designed to be connected to either an SC24000 proximity CPU or an EWSi Portal Plus controller. It is capable of reading EM4002 proximity fobs/cards (PBX1E fobs and PBX2 and PBX2C cards. It also incorporates 3 status indication LEDs- amber (standby/data, red (access denied and green (access granted.

The 8849MI proximity reader module is a standalone Mifare reader which is part of the offline MiAccess series of readers. It supports Mifare classic fobs/cards (PBXB-1E-MS50, PBXBK-1E-MS50, PBXG-1E-MS50 and PBXR-1E-MS50 fobs and also PBX-2-MS50 and PBX-2-MS70 cards. Programming and configuration of the reader is carried out using the PROA-MS software via the micro-USB connection on the back of the reader.

The 8849WS4 is a multi-purpose RFID proximity reader. Designed to integrate with the WS4 Web Access system, specifically the WS4 series of controllers. It also has an RS485 bus, 3 status indication LEDs and an internal buzzer.

Supported proximity fobs/cards include- HID iClass, CSN, NTAG, Mifare (Classic, Desfire Plus and Ultralight, ISO14443-A and ISO15693 card formats.
