Overview

A fire bell is the older, instantly recognised way of telling people to leave a building. ClamBell keeps that sound and changes how it goes on the wall.

How it works

• Hinged body: Fixing and wiring come first, and the bell only needs closing afterwards. That is where the time is saved.
• Aluminium gong: The aluminium gives low power consumption and lower weight.

Where to use it

An IP21C rating gives only basic protection against dripping water and fingers, so wet or outdoor positions call for another version.

The number and position of bells come from the system design, so take them from whoever holds the fire strategy.

What the figures mean in practice

• Current: A low nominal draw matters most when several bells share one circuit, so add them up against the panel's sounder output.
• Voltage window: The range gives some room for voltage drop on a long cable, but check the far end of the run.
• Humidity: The range is <96%, so avoid damp locations with this base.

Standards and ratings explained

EN54-3 is the European standard for fire alarm sounders, and this bell is approved to it. The approval mark is 456d/01, and the CE mark carries the number 2831.
