The C-TEC BF326/RSL is a lockable mains isolator keyswitch for the mains supply to a fire alarm panel. It suits installers who need a BS 5839-1 isolator with a power indicator. It is double-pole, has an internal 5A fuse and a green POWER LED, and comes red with a surface back box.

For installers
- Power: 230Va.c. mains; up to 5A, limited by the internal fuse.
- Cabling: 1 x 2.5mm² or 2 x 1.5mm² cable, so the panel keeps an independent sole mains supply. Terminals marked L, N and Earth.
- Mounting: surface, on the supplied back box; two M3.5 x 40mm screws supplied.
- Compatibility: all C-TEC mains control panels, plus 3rd party single phase panels with a maximum load of 5A or less.
- Standards: BS 5839-1 and BS 8629 marking; designed to comply with BS EN 60669-1 & BS EN 60669-2-4. IP30, indoor use only.

Frequently asked questions
What is the BF326/RSL used for?
It lets the mains supply to a fire alarm panel be locked on and off, as BS 5839-1 asks. That makes routine work such as battery tests and main board changes safer.
Does it work with panels from other makers?
Yes, with 3rd party single phase control panels if the maximum load is 5A or less, as well as all C-TEC mains panels.
How do the key positions work?
Turn the key horizontal to switch the power on, and vertical to switch it off. The green POWER LED lights when it is on.
Can it be used on an evacuation alert or EVC system?
Yes. Fit the BF326/LABEL to the front so it reads correctly for that system.
Can it be fitted outdoors?
No. It is rated IP30 for indoor use only.
