C-TEC QT602 Quantec addressable call point, front angled view

C-TEC Quantec Addressable Call Point, Button Reset with Remote Socket QT602

What this call point does

On a nurse call system, a call point lets someone in a room ask for help and shows them the request has registered. Staff then attend and clear it at the device.

Addressable means each device is individually identified on the network. This C-TEC model carries a button reset, while a magnetic version is a separate code.

How it works

  • Levels of call: the level reflects urgency, and the levels that apply depend on configuration and the ancillary devices used.
  • Attack and Attendance: these two calls need a compatible slave infrared receiver connected.
  • Remote socket: a jack socket takes a lead or sensor, so someone in a bed or chair can raise a call without reaching the wall.

Where to use it

It suits dry indoor rooms. IP20 gives no protection against water, and the working range is -5ºC to +40ºC.

Bathrooms and en-suites usually call for a sealed or pull-cord device, so check the location before choosing this plate.

What the figures mean in practice

  • Less than 3mA and 14mA: these are the standby and alarm currents, and they are what to add up when working out the load on the network.
  • 30 mm depth: the figure for the plate as a whole, which mounts on a 25mm back box.

Installing it

  • Network: connect to Net + and Net -, which also bring the nominal 24V DC supply from the Quantec Controller/Network.
  • Slave devices: use the R, G, L+, SW, IR and SLV terminals for optional slave devices. Follow the instructions supplied for the wiring of each one.
  • Programming: the operating behaviour is set with a QT423 configurator, so plan for one at commissioning.

Planning your system

This device needs a Quantec system behind it, as it takes power from the Quantec Controller/Network. Then add what each room needs, such as a tail call lead for a bed or armchair.

A slave overdoor light can show staff which room is calling, and it is an optional connection.
