Why an interface plate is needed

UK plated products are made for UK box spacings, and European boxes space their screw holes differently. This C-TEC plate sits between the two, so the plated product still has something to screw into.

It is a simple plastic part, but it can save moving a box or making good a wall on a refurbishment.

Where to use it

• Over a European box: for buildings with square or round continental boxes already in the wall.
• On a bare wall: where there is no box at all, used as a surface mounted box in its own right.

Plated products include items such as nurse call points and reset plates. Treat this plate as an indoor part unless C-TEC confirms otherwise.

What the figures mean in practice

• D 25mm: this is how far it stands off the mounting surface, which is why C-TEC calls it the deep version.
• Internal wiring depth 20mm: this is the space left for cables and the back of the plated product, so it is the figure to check.
• RAL9003: a colour reference used to match paints and plastics. RAL is an international colour system.

Installing it

The supplied Pozi head screws suit C-TEC plates, so the plated product fixes to this part. Allow for fixings to the box or the wall.

Choosing the right version

C-TEC makes four versions, in single and double gang and in shallow and deep. A double gang product needs the double gang deep (NCP26) or its shallow partner instead of this one.
