Hochiki ESP Programming Lead, 3 Way Connection, PL-3

Overview

On an addressable fire system every device needs its own number, called an address, so the panel can name the one reporting. A hand-held programmer is one way of setting it.

This Hochiki lead makes that link for devices with the square terminal, with one plug for each end.

How it works

• Programmer end: the jack plug goes into the socket on the TCH-B200.
• Device end: the square plug goes onto the programming terminal of the device.

Where to use it

The TCH-B200 and PL-3 pair is used to address HCP-E(SCI), a manual call point isolator.

A lead like this goes in the tool bag for commissioning and service visits, not on the wall. Check the device's own instructions first, because a device's method of addressing varies across any range, and some need the loop powered down.

Installing it

• Before you start: list the addresses from the system drawing first, since each device must have a number of its own.
• Afterwards: remove the lead and label the device with its address, then prove it at the panel.

Planning your system

You also need the programmer itself, the TCH-B200 hand held programmer, and devices with the square terminal, such as the HCP-E(SCI) call point. It is for Hochiki devices, so do not assume a fit with other makes.
