Videx VX2200 Video Door Entry Control Cabinet, 1 Door, No Timeclock 2291V-1D/NTC

Overview

A video door entry system on several flats needs a central point where the shared wiring meets. This cabinet does that job for a VX2200 video system with one entrance, gathering the shared wiring in one lockable box.

This is the version without a timeclock. For timed trade access there is the 2291V-1D, which adds a 701T timeclock in a taller cabinet.

How it works

• System power: the UBPSU3.5 supplies 13.8Vdc at 3.5A through three fused outputs, so the load can be spread across several devices.
• Video power: the HDR-30-15 provides the 15-18Vdc needed by the video devices in each apartment; it is double insulated and has a power LED.
• Switching: the VX123-1 card switches the common databus and video signals from the door entry panel at the entrance through to the video devices in an apartment.

Where to use it

It suits blocks of flats and shared buildings with one entrance on a VX2200 video system. The cabinet is surface mounted, so plan a wall position with room for the 360 x 265 mm footprint and access for servicing.

What the figures mean in practice

• 3.5A at 13.8Vdc: the budget shared across the 13.8Vdc devices; add up their currents before connecting.
• 2A video supply: shared by the video devices in the apartments, so check the total against it.
• NP7-12 battery: a 12Vdc 7Ah standby battery connects to the battery backup input on the power supply; it is bought separately.

Installing it

The cabinet arrives pre-wired with its keys, needing a 230-240Vac mains supply and the system cables. Connect the backup battery to the power supply's battery inputs.

Other intercom and door entry accessories, such as the entrance panel and the apartment video devices, connect to it through the system cabling.
