Lighting Mounting Kits

Mounting kits and profiles fix lights and LED tape in place and give a finished look. Most of this page is LYYT LED tape profiles, with their clips and corner connectors, plus LYYT rope light clips and gutter hooks for decorative lights. QTX mounting hooks clamp lighting fixtures to a pole. Knightsbridge brackets surface-mount its high bay and low bay fittings. Match a profile to your tape width and a clamp to the pole diameter.

Choosing Lighting Mounting Kits

Pick a profile by where the tape goes, on a surface, recessed, in a corner or plastered in, then add the clips and corner pieces it needs.

Surface LED tape profiles

The 156.802UK shallow section and 156.801UK deep section suit furniture and architectural details, and the 156.833UK D section gives a surface-mount half-tube effect for 180° light dispersal. For corners, the 156.805UK is a 45° angle profile, and the 156.828UK 2 Way Bar carries one or two tapes for up and down lighting in a paintable extrusion.

Recessed, plaster-in and waterproof

For a flush line of light, the 156.954UK plaster-in profile takes one LED tape of 8-12.5mm and has a 3mm lip to bed into plaster, while the 156.945UK plasters into an internal corner. The 156.921UK T insert sets into walls or ceilings with spring clips. Where moisture is a risk, the 156.842UK waterproof profile has a knock-in diffuser that forms a seal and can be inset into floors.

Curves, corners and clips

The 156.843UK is bendable to a radius as small as 50mm and comes with end caps and mounting clips. Corner connectors such as the 156.960UK join Short Crown or 90 Degree Arc profiles, and spare clip packs of 10 include the 156.881UK for deep and shallow sections.

The POTHB2BRAC is a black steel bracket that fits its Knightsbridge high bay to flush surfaces, and the LWBMOU is a white pressed steel surface mount bracket for Knightsbridge low bays.

Frequently asked questions

What is an aluminium LED tape profile used for?

An LED tape profile is an aluminium channel that holds LED tape behind a diffuser or clear cover. The LYYT 156.802UK shallow section is supplied complete with installation accessories and a snap-fit diffuser, and suits furniture or architectural details. Shapes such as crowned, angled, recessed and T insert profiles change how the tape is mounted and how the light spreads.

Can LED tape profile be used in a floor or a damp area?

Yes, the 156.842UK and 156.852UK waterproof profiles are rated IP68 and can be inset into floors or mounted on walls and ceilings. Their heavy duty diffuser creates a waterproof seal when firmly knocked into the profile, which protects the tape where there is a risk of moisture ingress. The 156.892UK is a pack of 10 IP68 profile clips.

Can an LED profile be plastered into a wall?

Yes, the plaster-in profiles are made to be built into the surface. The 156.954UK flush mounted profile takes one LED tape of 8-12.5mm and comes with a white diffuser, and the 156.959UK wide version takes one or two tapes. The 156.955UK internal corner profile has a 3mm lip for a good bed of plaster, which reduces the possibility of cracking.

How do I run LED profile around a curve or a corner?

Use a bendable profile or corner connectors. The 156.843UK bends to a radius as small as 50mm, has a push-fit opaque diffuser and comes with end caps and mounting clips for curved edges. For corners and suspended runs, the 156.967UK translucent connectors join Short Crown or 90 Degree Arc profiles and give a continuous diffused light effect.

How do I hang a stage light from a pole?

Use a QTX mounting hook, a screw clamp made for lighting fixtures. The 151.437UK fits poles of 37-50mm, and the G shaped 151.449UK fits poles up to 55mm with a 20kg maximum weight load. The silver 151.440UK suits stage lighting, events and installations and supports up to 25kg. Check the fixture weight against the clamp rating.

How do I fix a Knightsbridge high bay or low bay to a flat surface?

Use the surface bracket made for that fitting. The POTHB1BRAC and POTHB2BRAC are black steel brackets for Knightsbridge high bays, allowing flush surface installation, and the POTHB2BRAC weighs 0.9 Kg. The LWBMOU is a set of white pressed steel surface mount brackets for Knightsbridge low bays. Match the bracket code to the fitting you are installing.
