  • Links the room to the corridor – interfaces to a ceiling pull inside the WC and a slave overdoor light outside

For installers

  • Power: nominal 24V DC from the Quantec Controller/Network. Quiescent current less than 5mA.
  • Mounting: standard UK 25mm single gang flush or surface back box. 87 W x 87 H x 23 D mm.
  • Cabling: Net +: Net -; R; G; L+; SW. R, G, L+ and SW connect a slave ceiling pull and slave overdoor light c/w sounder.

C-TEC QT605S accessible toilet alarm reset point, front view showing Braille reset button

C-TEC Quantec Accessible Toilet Alarm Reset Point with Confidence Sounder QT605S

What this reset point does

An accessible toilet alarm lets someone in difficulty call for help by pulling a cord. This plate sits inside the arrangement as the point where the call is confirmed and cleared.

It is a C-TEC Quantec device, and the Quantec name means it joins an addressable call system, not a stand-alone alarm.

How it works

  • Pull: activating the slave ceiling pull makes the onboard sounder give Quantec's standard call tone.
  • Accepted: when staff accept the call at a Quantec display, the tone changes to a slow intermittent one. That change is the reassurance, because the person knows the call has been seen.
  • Reset: the button then cancels the call. The Braille text makes it usable by touch.

Where to use it

It is designed for accessible toilets on Quantec sites. IP40 gives no water protection, so weigh the rating against where the plate sits in the room.

In most projects, position and heights in an accessible toilet are set by the building's design guidance, so agree them before first fix.

What the figures mean in practice

  • Less than 5mA: the standby current to include when working out the load on the network.
  • 23 mm depth: the plate's own depth, alongside the 87 mm square face and the 25mm back box.

Installing it

  • Network: connect to Net + and Net -, the nominal 24V DC supply from the Quantec Controller/Network.
  • Inside the room: the ceiling pull is installed inside the WC, and connects through this unit's expansion terminals.
  • Outside the room: the slave overdoor light c/w sounder is installed outside the WC, and uses the same terminals.

Planning your system

A full accessible toilet position needs this plate, the ceiling pull and the overdoor light, on a Quantec network with a display. The QT951 Accessible Toilet Alarm kit is C-TEC's own bundle for this job.

BS8300 is the standard on designing accessible buildings. This unit is designed for use in BS8300 compliant accessible toilet alarm applications, which describes its intended use.
