C-TEC NC802DB nurse call point with button reset, front view

C-TEC 800 Series Nurse Call Point, Button Reset with Remote Socket NC802DB

What this call point does

In a care home or surgery, a nurse call system lets someone ask for help and shows staff where the request came from. This plate is the point at the bedside or in the room where a call starts and ends.

It comes from C-TEC's 800 Series. A Standard call is the ordinary request for attention on that system, and it is the only type this point generates.

How it works

  • Making a call: pressing the Call button starts the call, and the LED stays lit constantly as a sign that it has gone through.
  • Ending a call: a member of staff presses Reset at the point. This also clears Standard calls on the same zone, so one visit can clear a room and its ensuite.
  • Calling from further away: the socket lets a person call from a bed or chair, using a tail call lead plugged in here.

Where to use it

It suits bedrooms and treatment rooms where someone can reach the plate or a lead. With an IP20 rating, it belongs in dry areas, so a wet room needs a different device.

As a rule, think about who will use each point and whether they can reach it when lying down or after a fall.

Installing it

  • Back box: the plate goes on a single gang box, flush or surface, so ordinary first fix methods apply.
  • Ceiling pull: the RC terminal is for the optional NC807C ceiling pull unit, a common addition for ensuites.
  • Zones: wire devices on a shared zone only if one Reset should clear them all, as the button works across that zone.

Planning your system

The job also needs 800 Series control equipment, which sets the alarm current. Other room devices, such as a call overdoor light, may also be part of the design.

A tail call lead suits anyone who cannot reach the wall plate. Choose the lead type to suit the room.
