What a reset point does

On a nurse call system, a person raises a call and staff respond. A reset point gives staff a place to clear that call, separate from the device that raised it.

This C-TEC unit is the plain button type, in a plastic plate. It is useful where the calling device is awkward to reach, such as a ceiling pull.

How it works

• Same zone only: the button acts on devices wired on its own zone. A call elsewhere on the system stays until it is cleared there.
• Standard calls: this is the call type it cancels. Do not rely on it for other call types.

Where to use it

It is made for indoor care settings using the 800 Series. With IP41 and a working range of -5°C to +40°C, it suits normal heated rooms, not wet or outdoor locations.

What the figures mean in practice

• 0mA quiescent: it draws no current while idle, so it adds nothing to the standby load.
• IP41: protected against objects over 1 mm and against dripping water falling straight down.
• 24 mm depth: the figure sits alongside the 87 mm square plate and the 25mm back box.

Installing it

• Back box: fit a standard UK 25mm single gang box, flush or surface.
• Terminals: SIG, -Ve and RC are marked, and RC is connected to Signal.

Decide which devices share a zone first, because that sets what each reset point can clear. Check the maximum number of devices in C-TEC's system documentation.

This is a call system, not a fire alarm, so it does not take the place of fire alarm call points.
