Overview

This plate goes between a seismic detector and the surface it protects. A seismic detector responds to vibration patterns, and the plate helps to ensure reliable detection performance.

It comes from the Vanderbilt accessory range for GM7xx detectors, whose job is the monitoring of safes, ATMs, strong rooms and similar places.

How it works

All known types of intruder attack generate their own vibration patterns, and Senstec technology analyses their timing, frequency and amplitude. The same technology is there to ignore environmental disturbances.

A flat, rigid plate gives the detector a firm contact with the structure. That is why fixing quality matters as much as the sensitivity setting.

Where to use it

• Uneven steel: a plate is mandatory here.
• Concrete: a plate is also mandatory on concrete applications.
• Everywhere else: Vanderbilt still strongly recommends a plate with every Senstec seismic detector.

Installing it

On steel, choose a screw or tack welding. Welding near a safe or vault can affect locks, coatings and insurance terms, so agree it with the owner first.

On concrete, follow the installation instructions for the detector you are fitting.

This is one part of the job, and it is an accessory for a GM7xx detector. Other accessories include the GMXC2 connection sleeve and the GMXS1 internal test transmitter.
