The WME DL1 is a modern digital door lock designed to combine security, convenience, and elegant ultra-slim design. Suitable for aluminium, wood, steel, stainless steel, and brass doors, this smart lock supports both automatic and manual locking, making it ideal for residential and light commercial applications.
Featuring PIN code access with advanced scramble code protection, the lock allows secure entry using 4–12 digit touch codes, supporting up to 20 unique user codes. The scramble code function prevents password exposure by allowing users to enter random digits before or after the correct PIN, enhancing privacy when others are nearby.
The lock is powered by 4 × AA alkaline batteries, delivering up to 9 months of battery life, with low-battery warning alerts to ensure uninterrupted operation. For added peace of mind, a USB Type-C emergency charging port is included in case of battery depletion. A mechanical key override provides reliable backup access at all times.
Built with intelligent security features, the smart lock is equipped with an anti-prying alarm that activates if illegal tampering is detected, as well as a continuous failed-attempt alarm that triggers after multiple incorrect PIN entries. Once the door is opened, the lock can automatically relock after a few seconds, while still allowing manual control if preferred.
Designed to withstand demanding environments, the lock operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C and humidity levels of 20% to 95%, making it suitable for indoor and protected outdoor installation. Its ultra-thin structure (as thin as 13mm) ensures compatibility with modern minimalist doors without compromising strength or functionality.

DL2 is designed for most UK single doors. It fits 35–65 mm thick wooden, steel and composite doors and mounts as a surface “rim” lock on the inside of the door.

Yes. DL2 is built for both internal and external doors and is rated IP55 for rain and dust, with an operating range of –10 °C to 55 °C – ideal for UK winters and summers.
It’s suitable for flats, front doors, side doors, garages and workshops as well as internal rooms.
DL2 is a full smart rim lock and can be used as your main day-to-day lock.
Many customers keep their existing mortice/deadlock as extra security and use DL2 for everyday convenience (fingerprint, codes, app). If you have any doubts about your setup, our technical team can advise.
No hub or bridge needed. DL2 connects directly to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and to your phone via Bluetooth.
No mandatory subscription. All core features – fingerprints, PINs, cards, app control and activity logs – are included in the price.
Wi-Fi is only required for remote control and alerts when you’re away from home.
DL2 runs on 4× AA batteries with up to around 12 months’ typical use (about 10 unlocks per day).
You won’t suddenly be locked out because:
The lock gives low-battery warnings in the app and on the keypad.
There’s a hidden mechanical key override – two keys are included in the box.
You can give it emergency power via the micro-USB port (e.g. from a power bank) and then unlock with your fingerprint or PIN.
Change the batteries at the first warning and you’ll never reach the “dead lock” stage.
DL2 combines traditional hardware security with smart features:

Yes. DL2 includes a hidden keyway and two backup keys.
You can use fingerprint, PIN, card or the app day-to-day and keep the keys as a backup for emergencies or for anyone who prefers a traditional key.
DL2 is built for busy homes and multi-user properties:
- Up to 100 fingerprints, 100 PIN codes and 100 cards (max 300 users in total).
- Temporary and time-limited codes you can create from your phone for guests, cleaners or trades.
- Remote one-time passwords valid for a few minutes – ideal when someone is at the door and you can’t get there.
That makes DL2 a strong fit for short-lets, HMOs, offices and family homes where lots of people need controlled access.
DL2 is designed for DIY-friendly installation:

- Mount the exterior keypad and interior rim unit with the supplied bracket and screws.

DL2 connects to your phone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and is managed through our companion app on iOS and Android.
It also supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can lock/unlock with voice commands or include the lock in routines (e.g. “Goodnight” scenes that lock the door).
Yes. DL2 keeps working locally even if your internet is down or your phone battery dies:
- You can always unlock with fingerprint, PIN, card or key at the door – none of these rely on Wi-Fi.
- The only features you lose until Wi-Fi returns are remote control, push notifications and cloud sync.
