Ruijie Access Points

Ruijie access points add Wi-Fi to a wired network, taking data and usually power from a switch port. This page covers Reyee RG-RAP models and the enterprise RG-AP range: ceiling units such as the RG-RAP2260(G), wall-plate units for hotel rooms and offices, and outdoor units such as the IP65 RG-RAP62-OD and the IP68 RG-RAP6262. Wi-Fi standards run from Wi-Fi 5 to Wi-Fi 7, with tri-radio Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 models for the 6 GHz band.

Choosing Ruijie Access Points

Match a Ruijie access point to its mounting position, the number of users and the switch port behind it.

Reyee or enterprise RG-AP

Reyee models such as the RG-RAP2260 are set up from the Ruijie Cloud app, and Reyee Mesh brings extra units into the same network. The RG-AP models suit larger sites: the RG-AP840-L can run under Ruijie Cloud or in fit, fat and controller modes, and the RG-AP810-L is supplied with a Ruijie Cloud lifetime licence.

Ceiling and wall-plate units

Ceiling units cover open rooms and corridors. The RG-RAP2260 is rated at 2.97 Gbps with a 2.5 Gbps uplink, while the tri-radio RG-AP880-L adds the 6 GHz band of Wi-Fi 6E and peaks at 7.78 Gbps. Wall-plate units replace a faceplate and add wired ports: the RG-RAP1260 has five Gigabit ports and can run in AP or routing mode, and the Wi-Fi 7 RG-RAP72-Wall is about 24 mm thick with an anti-theft lock.

Outdoor units

Check the IP rating first. The RG-RAP62-OD and RG-RAP72Pro-OD are IP65 units for wall or pole mounting, and the IP68 RG-AP680(CD) operates between −40°C and +65°C. For car parks and plazas, the RG-RAP6260(H) has optical ports for long-distance deployment and a 2.5 Gbit/s uplink.

Powering the access points

Most models here draw PoE through their uplink port, so no mains socket is needed at the mounting point. Match the switch to the unit: the RG-AP180P-L draws up to 25 W and PoE+ is recommended for its full features, the RG-AP840-L accepts 802.3af, at or bt PoE or a 54 V DC input, and the RG-RAP52-OD also takes 24 V passive PoE.

Frequently asked questions

Which Ruijie access points support Wi-Fi 7?

Wi-Fi 7 models here include the RG-RAP72Pro ceiling unit, the RG-RAP72Pro-OD for indoor or outdoor use, and the RG-RAP72-Wall wall-plate unit. These three are dual-band and use Multi-Link Operation (MLO). The RG-RAP72Pro also uses 4K-QAM, and the RG-RAP72-Wall has a 2.5 Gbps uplink for a multi-gig switch port.

Which Ruijie access points can be fitted outside?

Choose one of the IP-rated outdoor units. IP65 models such as the RG-RAP52-OD, RG-RAP62-OD and RG-RAP72Pro-OD mount on a wall or pole, and IP68 models such as the RG-RAP6202(G), RG-RAP6260(G) and RG-AP680P-L are built for harsher exposed sites. The RG-AP680P-L adds 6 kV surge protection and salt-spray corrosion protection, and operates between −40°C and +65°C.

Can Ruijie access points work together as a mesh?

Yes, several Reyee models join a Reyee Mesh network. The RG-RAP2260 and RG-RAP1260 support Reyee Mesh, and the RG-RAP6262 uses it to add outdoor Wi-Fi coverage. The RG-RAP52-OD pairs mesh with layer-2 and layer-3 roaming, so phones and laptops can move between units as people walk around a site. A mesh unit still needs power, from PoE or its own supply.

Which Ruijie access point suits a hotel room or office?

A wall-plate unit is usually the neatest choice, because it sits over the room back box and adds wired ports as well as Wi-Fi. The RG-RAP1201 is a Wi-Fi 5 model with one downlink port for a local device, the RG-RAP1260 is a Wi-Fi 6 unit with five Gigabit ports, and the RG-RAP72-Wall brings Wi-Fi 7 with four Gigabit LAN ports and an anti-theft lock.

What do AX3000 and BE5040 mean on a Ruijie access point?

They are roughly the radios’ top rates added together, in Mbps, with AX marking Wi-Fi 6 and BE marking Wi-Fi 7. The AX3000 RG-RAP2260 is rated at 2.97 Gbps across both bands, and the AX1800 RG-RAP2260(G) at up to 1775Mbps. A single phone or laptop sees a fraction of that figure, because the bands and airtime are shared between the connected devices.
