Burglar & Intruder Alarms

A burglar alarm pairs a control panel with detectors, contacts, keypads and sounders, and a way of signalling when it goes off. Wireless, wired or hybrid panels

The Ajax Hub 2 Plus 22925.40.WH1 is a wireless control panel with Ethernet, Wi-Fi and dual-SIM LTE, support for up to 200 devices and photo verification from MotionCam detectors. The Pyronix Enforcer V11 ENF32UK-WE is a hybrid panel with 32 wireless zones onboard, expandable to 64, plus 2 wired zones, and it states Security EN Grade 2.

Motion and perimeter detection

Indoors, the Optex FlipX FLX-S-DT pairs PIR with microwave, and the Ajax Superior MotionProtect G3 Fibra 117717.09.WH1 is an EN 50131 Grade 3 wired PIR with anti-masking and a 15 m range. Outside, the GJD D-TECT 50 IP (GJD250) is a PoE detector with a programmable range of up to 50 metres, and the GJD509 laser forms a curtain up to 10 m × 10 m. The Hikvision DS-PDSK-P(B) shock detector guards doors, windows and safes against impact.

Doors, windows and shutters

The Elmdene by Potter 6RSA-100-GN is a Grade 2 roller shutter contact with a 55mm operating gap and 1m of stainless steel conduit. The Aritech DC115 is a sealed overhead door contact with 2 m armoured cable for metal doors, gates and fences.

Sounders and signalling

The Ajax StreetSiren Fibra 44412.07.WH1 adjusts from 85 to 113 dB with an LED frame for visual alerts, and the Elmdene by Potter RAPIER-G3S-NC is a stainless steel Grade 3 sounder with twin strobes. The Pyronix DIGI-LAN module sends alarm signals over an existing broadband line and push notifications to a phone. For standby power, the Power Sonic PS-12170VDS M5 is a 12 V 17Ah sealed AGM battery.

Can an alarm detector protect a garden or yard?

Yes, outdoor detectors are made for it. What battery does an alarm system need?

The battery the panel or power supply specifies, usually a sealed standby battery for the panel and small cells for wireless devices.
